YOUNG INDUSTRIES, INC. PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH TO SAFETY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Young Industries has always been, and remains, committed to providing our employees with ongoing training, emphasizing the safest possible work environment, and the ecological impact of producing our products.
Our safety program is directed by a committee of hourly production workers and management personnel. This program has been operational for over twenty years with special recognition celebrations of award jackets, family picnics, prizes, dinners, luncheons. We maintain a record of "Safety Hours" for our production workers and a safety committee selects an award for every 100,000 "Safety Hours" worked without a lost-time accident.
We believe every employee is entitled to a safe work place, and should contribute to a healthy environment. It is for this reason that Young Industries maintains a corporate policy to meet or exceed all regulations. We have recently acted aggressively regarding Clean Air Acts by contacting our suppliers and eliminating the use of ozone depleting chemicals in our manufacturing process.
To further exemplify our environmental safety position, Young Industries has committed to utilizing the recycling process of fuel blending for our non-hazardous, regulated wastes, which typically would qualify for less costly land-fill disposal.
Young Industries accepts the responsibility for leadership and training of our safety and health program. Our supervisors and management personnel are directed to develop proper attitudes toward safety, and are responsible for insuring that all operations are performed with the utmost regard for the safety and health of our employees, and the environment. We expect all employees to be genuinely committed to cooperate with all aspects of our safety and health program while performing their duties.
