Model “QC” Rotary Valve

The Model “QC” Quick Clean rotary valves are engineered to minimize downtime in process applications requiring fast access to the valve’s interior.

The Young Industries, Inc. Model “QC” (Quick Clean) Rotary Valve is used to reduce downtime for valve clean up. The valve allows removal of the rotor without removing the packing gland. No tools are required for disassembly or assembly. This valve is typically used where access to the valve’s interior is required, but total clean up of all components is not a factor.
The Quick clean design modifications are available as a Drop-Thru-Airlock Feeder Valve with a “HC” (High Capacity) model or as Drop-Thru-Airlock Feeder Valve with a “LH” (Low Headroom) model or as a “SE” (Side Entry) Model.
All “QC” Quick Clean valves use shrouded rotor designs. The “QC” valve can be furnished in the end seal design for those applications requiring reduced air or gas leakage across the valve.
The “QC” rotary valve has two(2) outboard tapered roller bearings on one side of the rotor with a hinged bolt-in-place assess door on the other side. The model “QC” rotary valve uses standard rings of braided packing, held in place by an aluminum packing follower.
As a result, the Young Industries, Model “QC” rotary valves have been proven to provide superior performance and reliability in a wide range of bulk materials handling applications and low cost of ownership.

The Model “QC” Quick Clean rotary valve is recommended when you need fast access to the interior of the valve and total clean up of all the interior components is not required..

The Model “QC” Quick Clean rotary valves are engineered to minimize downtime in process applications This model will reduce downtime and save you money with easy rotor removal and reassembly. The “QC” rotary valve has two (2) outboard ball bearings on one side with a bolt-in-place access door on the other side. The rotor shaft is sealed by four (4) packing rings of Kevlar located on the back fixed end plate with exterior packing follower;
A bolted access door on one end provides access to the internal wetted parts.The access door can be hinged and have an “O” ring seal to prevent outside leakage

Model “QC” (Quick Clean) Rotary Feeder Valve Standard Features

The Young Industries Model “QC” Rotary Valve standard features increase the valve’s life cycle and lowers the cost of ownership.

The standard features are:

    • 15 PSIG Housing and differential pressure or vacuum
    • 5 PSIG differential pressure or vacuum
    • Minimum four blade sealing with two (2) blade sealing on each side.
    • Fabricated or cast designs
    • Materials of construction: Cast or fabricated carbon steel, cast or fabricated stainless steel and cast or fabricated Aluminum
    • Raw materials are traceable to standard specifications with ASTM the most used specification
    • Round or square inlet flange
    • Round or square discharge flange
    • Up to 250°F operation temperature
    • Outboard-mounted precision ball bearings
    • Packing gland rotor shaft seal consisting four (4) rings of braided packing, held in place by an aluminum packing follower.
    • Eight (8) bladed rotor with twelve (12) bladed rotor for rotary valves over 12″ size to provide low operating air or gas leakage.
    • Rotor assembled near-perfect concentrically to the housing
    • Heavy rotor shafts secured to eliminate shifting in the housing
    • ll “QC” Quick Clean valves use shrouded rotor design having two (2) different types of rotors. The types are “B & C”- partially filled and “D” – adjustable tips
    • Grounding and bonding connection to NFPA specifications
    • Right-angle Gearmotor, side mounted, 3 phase, 60 Hertz, 230-460 volts, TEFC and roller chain drive and safety to OSHA requirements.
    • Painted blue enamel or Steelcote stainless steel paint
    • Completely assembled and tested.

The Young Industries Model “QC” Rotary Valve optional features and accessories for meeting your exact plant requirements and enhance your process performance

Optional features and accessories are:

      • Special sizes and double length styles
      • Drive and accessories are usually supplied consisting of a right angle gear motor, sprockets, drive chain and safety guard. TEFC or Explosion proof motors, direct connected and other special drive available
      • Special materials of construction including: 316 Stainless steel, Hastelloy, Titanium, engineered plastics
      • Hinged door with hand knobs
      • Davit arm and rotor extractor to aid in the removal of the rotor and actually support the rotor once removed from the housing.
      • Interior coating to provide abrasive resistance to material release including: chrome plating, nickel plating, tungsten carbide, Stellite, Teflon
      • Interior polishes and cleanup
      • Manufactured under contaminant-free conditions
      • Special packing materials as graphite, food grade TPFE,
