Young Industries recently designed and manufactured a Size 18” Model HC Rotary Valve with special direct drive arrangement. This valve is to replace an existing rotary valve that was originally supplied by another manufacturer. Our customer has several Young Industries Rotary Valve’s in other areas of the plant that are giving good service and came to us for this valve because they wanted the reliability of a Young Rotary Valve.
The Rotary Valve is 304S/S construction complete with a shrouded rotor having 12 blades with beveled tips. This valve is delivering 80,000 lbs. per hour of a food flake into a 3 PSIG positive pressure pneumatic convey system. An oblong vent was placed in the housing for venting the displaced gas. The oblong design provides more vent area for better venting efficiency.
Direct Drive with Removable Guard
Our customer requested that the valve have a specific type of direct drive with explosion proof motor. We provided the drive with a guard around the drive shaft for safety that is easily removed for inspection when needed. This Rotary Valve meets the specific needs of our customers application and will provide many years of service. The valve is designed to meet the specific needs of the application and provide all the features requested by our customer.
